An old favorite kannada song from the movie Kakana Kote.  Below is the transliteration and an attempt to translate into English.

Telugu and Kannada are so close that you can translate a verse in one language lexically word-by-word, and it still makes sense in the other language. For example, if we attempt to translate the above song into Telugu (you can hum in the same tune too):

Hi sphujidhwaja,

Such a lovely gesture! Thank you, you seem to be at home with Kannada and Telugu, and probably are a singer too. :)

Strangely, when we were experimenting with the transliteration of the English version of another Kannada song (please see Ayya, Senor, Adonai) into Spanish and Hebrew, we did not try it with Telugu. Now, you have got me interested in this all over again. :)
